This last Saturday the Car club I’m a member of hosted a car show . It was our first time at this location and turned out great! The show was held at Indio Spirits Distillery in Portland Oregon. We had around 112 cars with some really cool trophies! All in all a great day. Here are some pics from the show

Nice pics! I didn’t remember that vinyl tops were even an option for early second gen Camaros, but there it is on the list, option C08 with a price of $90. It looks like it was pretty popular too. Either people have removed them over the years or the small sampling that I’ve seen just happened not to have it.

Most people get rid of them because they are a pain to maintain and also cause a lot of rust issues. My 68 was a vinyl top cars and was the cause of the only rust in the entire car.

My first car, a ‘72 Gran Torino, had a faded vinyl top when I got it and I hated it. I tried everything that early 80s technology had to try to make it look better but nothing worked. It didn’t help that it was green, the exterior was green and the interior was green and that I hated green. Especially that 70s style light green exterior. But the car was free (though it didn’t run) so I couldn’t really complain.
